Choosing a means that will change the piece depending on the medium of the viewer made me interested in animated gifs. 

The hardware of a computer and the computing time to render the image(s) create an unique experience for each viewer. The hardware will never create the same piece twice.

We can even say the particular piece becomes only alive because of the viewer. Thank you for being here and making this piece alive.  

Wouldn't you be here to experience the piece, the piece would not be existent either.
